On June 24, 2022, in the city of Dijon, the D-TECHNOSS team held its seminar and reflection workshop on strong sustainability.
After various meetings held via videoconference, the D-TECHNOSS project team held its first face-to-face seminar in the city of DIJON.
The seminar had as its central topic of discussion the definition of the concept of strong sustainability. The first part of our meeting focused on discussing the concept of strong sustainability. Strong sustainability is the main axis of our project and it is necessary to be able to specify the way to make its definition operational.
The second part of our seminar focused on the advancement of our two doctoral students, Lou-Lyne LECONTE and Melissa ESCOBAR. They presented us with their first results and their work plan for the coming months. Articulating two investigations from the human sciences and engineering in the D-TECHNOSS project allows us to have a complete vision of the problem to be studied.
This first meeting was the subject of analysis of the environmental impact of CO2 emissions that occur when there is a need to attend a conference in person. It is no surprise to say that video conferencing has a lower impact on carbon emissions. Within the D-TECHNOSS project, the aim is to promote research practices that can integrate environmental aspects for its operation.
